Benefits of Auto Tinting In Mesa AZ

Since the beginning of the automobile, its loyal drivers have always sought ways to make their model unique in some way. Maybe the dashboard finds itself decorated with little trinkets, or perhaps the steering wheel is wrapped in fabric. Some people, with or without these other personal modifications, opt to have their windows tinted. But what benefits could this possibly have? Why get tinted windows?

1. The added privacy. If you find yourself uncomfortable with the idea that other drivers can see you plain as day, auto tinting could be for you. Not only will other people be unable to peer in wherever the car might be parked, but would-be robbers will not feel tempted to break in. After all, if they can't see any valuables, why should they bother to target your vehicle? This will add a sense of security that you may have never felt before, and should definitely be kept in mind.

2. Getting a car tint means adding a measure of safety, as well. Nobody likes to consider the fact that getting into an accident is a great possibility. Thankfully for all parties involved, if this does in fact happen, your tinted windows will be less likely to shatter; the tint is able to keep the glass in one piece. There may be a hefty bill in the future, but at least replacement windows will not be in it.

3. It is stylish. Who has looked at a window tinting car and not come to believe that somebody important must drive it? The feature is seen on all sorts of important vehicles, such as limos, all over the country. It may even bring up the value of the car, as this modification is a popular desire for many drivers.

4. During the hotter months of the year, the auto film also contributes to protecting its passengers from the sun. Being stuck in traffic can be bad for the skin, as the sun will constantly be shining on it; not so if the windows are tinted. The UV rays will not be able to get in, saving you a few painful burns.

How to remove window tint
steve from Mesa, AZ
How To Remove Window Tint Removing window tint can be time consuming but it is actually pretty easy to do. When you decide to remove the tint from a car window you will need to pick a hot sunny day. You will need black trash bags, a tarp or plastic sheet, window cleaner, a spray bottle with ammonia, another spray bottle with a small amount of soap and water and a window scraper which can be purchased at most home improvement stores.

Park the car so that it is in direct sunlight. Cut one of the plastic bags so that it will fit over the outside of the window. Spray the outside of the window with the soap mixture and cover the window with the black trash bag that you cut to fit the window. Cut another black trash bag to fit the inside of the window. Spray the inside of the window with the ammonia and cover it with the trash bag. Allow the window to bake in the sun for about an hour so the ammonia can dissolve the adhesive on the tint. If you can handle the smell of the ammonia you can use a hair dryer on the high setting to help the process move along. Be sure that the doors of the car is open if you are going to try the hair dryer. Being in a closed car with the fumes from the ammonia can be dangerous and cause serious health problems. This process should be done one window at a time because of the use of ammonia. After the car has been in the sun for about an hour you can remove the garbage bags from the windows. Start in one corner of the tint and peel it from the window slowly. Try to remove the tint in one piece if possible. This will decrease the amount of scraping that will have to be done. Keep the tint wet with the ammonia for easier removal. If the tint is being removed from the big back window, be very careful when scraping to keep from damaging the defrost wires in the window. After all the tint is removed you can use the window cleaner to remove any remaining adhesive that is left on the window. You may have to repeat using the cleaner to remove all of the tint adhesive. If there is a lot of adhesive left on the window after the tint is removed, you can use the ammonia along with a very fine steel wool to remove it easier.

Another way to remove tint from car windows is with a clothing steamer. Heat up the tint with the steamer and peel the tint off the window. Instead of scraping the window with a razor blade you can use duct tape to remove the tint. Press the tape to the window and slowly lift the tape which will lift off the tint. This is a great technique to use on the back window where the defrost and antennae wires are located. Keeping the residual adhesive wet with the ammonia while you are scraping it off with the razor.

If there isn't enough sun to help heat the windows for the removal, you can also use a heat lamp shining on the window to get enough heat to remove the tint. You should still cover the window with the garbage bags and use the ammonia to soak the tint. Apply the heat lamp for about an hour and then attempt to remove the tint from the window. You will need more than one scraper because the adhesive removal will dull them quickly.

Can Car Window Tinting Protect Your Vehicle?

Do you have a new car? Whether your car is brand-new showroom model, or simply a used car that’s new to you, you want to protect your investment. One of the best ways to keep your car interior fresh and free from fading, especially when living in hot climates like Arizona, is to have car window tinting.

Car window tinting is much different than window tinting of even a few years ago. The techniques used to tint windows have come a long way in a very short amount of time. You no longer experience bubbling or cracking like previous window films. Current car window tinting molds to the car window so that it’s virtually impossible to distinguish it from the window glass itself.

The best place to get car window tinting done is at an auto glass replacement and repair facility. These companies are experts at creating the best tint possible for your window, while also adhering to safety standards. When you work with auto glass repair in Peoria, you’ll get a great fit for your window tinting.

Car window tinting does more than offer a little bit more privacy to the car owner. Tinting also provides for your safety and security. Tinting actually eliminates much of the UV rays that come in through your windows. In fact, good tinting at auto glass repair in Peoria could eliminate as much as 99.9% of the UV rays that you get while driving. This is important for cancer prevention and for keeping your car interior from fading and becoming damaged.

Another important facet of window tinting is that it helps to keep the car cooler while sitting in the sun. While you are driving, this will help to keep your air conditioner from cranking at full speed – which will certainly affect your gas mileage. Just as important, when you come to your car after it’s been sitting outside all day, you don’t have to worry about burning your hands on too hot of a steering wheel.
