Mirrors can dramatically enhance the beauty of virtually any room in your home. They
amplify light, enhance the decor and can even double the perceived size of a room. They can be used as small,
decorative accents or large architectural ornaments. They can emphasize focal points, add drama and liveliness to
room.
Shapes
There are endless array of shapes that mirrors come in. We can custom make any design or shape. Some
of the standard shapes are Architectural (rectangular mirror with curved top), Octagonal, Oval, Rectangular, Round
and Square. The shape and design of the mirror you choose should fit the dimensions of the room, the style of the
furnishings and your own personal tastes.

Mirrors come in many different colors (clear, gold, bronze, gray, black, etc.). The glass is
actually tinted and the silvered backing gives it the reflective properties of mirror. View samples below.

Installation
Proper installation of any mirror (wall to wall or decorative hanging) is critical to the
final appearance and safety. Follow these guidelines when installing mirrors:
Layout the location prior to installing.
Never install mirrors on new plaster, new masonry or freshly painted walls.
Use gloves when handling mirrors for safety and to prevent damage to the face or backing from salts and
chemicals on hands.
Never install mirrors outdoors unless the mirror is engineered specifically for protection of the silvered
backing.
Set mirrors slightly off the wall with sufficient air space to provide for ventilation of backing.
If using mastic to mount directly to wall, use mechanical fasteners with mastic and be sure mastic is
compatible with mirror and wall material.
Never allow mirror edges to be subjected to water "puddling" as it will attack the mirror backing and cause
"black edge".
When hanging decorative wall mirrors, use only proper wall anchors with sufficient strength to hold weight
of mirror. It is always safer to mount in wall studs or concrete than in drywall. If mounting in drywall,
always use anchors with maximum pullout strength.
Do not allow sharp objects (nails, screws, screwdrivers, etc.) to touch the back of the mirror. If mirror
backing is scratched, it will show through to front of mirror
The availability of different thickness for your mirror often depends on the texture you choose.

Mirror Care & Cleaning
Proper care and cleaning of mirrors is both simple and inexpensive.
The best and safest cleaner is warm water and a soft
lint-free cloth.
Always avoid getting the edges or backs of mirrors wet. If
this occurs, dry off immediately.
Never use harsh chemical cleaners, acids, alkalis or
abrasives.
You can use many of the quality commercial mirror cleaners
as long as they do not contain ammonia or vinegar.
Never spray or apply cleaners directly to the mirror
surface, apply to soft, lint-free cloth and then wipe the mirror surface.
Be sure no cleaners come in contact with edges or backing
Storing Mirrors
Mirrors are glass and are extremely fragile. Always keep
handling of mirrors to a minimum. Follow these precautions:
Unpack mirrors and store vertically, DO NOT LAY FLAT!
Protect mirrors from obstructions and falling objects until
installed

Are you looking for a way to make your home distinctive and classic? Have you considered using glass as an
important decorative item? Glass is a great tool for adding polish to a home, while opening up each room and
making it seem large and expansive.
One option that many people choose is to use table top glass in Mesa. Topping your table
with glass is a great way to protect the surface of your wood from scratching or other damage. If you have a
beautiful dining room table, a nice piece of glass across the top makes it easy to clean, and provides
insulation to the wood from hot or cold items.
Table top glass in Mesa is also frequently used when you have a small room and don’t want to make the room
seem overcrowded with furnishings. Using a solid glass piece as a table top, makes a room seem spacious and
light.
Another way to use table top glass in Mesa is to use your coffee table as a type of “shadow box”. You can
simply put a frame on top of a coffee table and arrange your collectible's in a charming position. Then put a
clear glass top across the frame. This allows you to display your items, but you still have a nice, clean
uncluttered surface to use for a coffee table.
If you want your home to look even bigger, don’t forget about the possibility of decorating using custom
glass mirrors. Many decorators have used custom glass mirrors for years to make a room look bigger. You can use
the mirror along an entire wall, to reflect the room and make it look larger, or you can position the custom
glass mirror above a fireplace or in place of a picture.
When you chose to use a custom glass mirror, you can determine the size and shape of the
mirror. So, if you have a beautiful old frame you’d like to use, you can easily get the mirror cut to your
specifications.
Another option to consider is to replace broken panels on a coffee table with new glass.
You can easily have glass cut to size to fit into a table, and you can determine the thickness of the glass,
the tint of the glass, and the edging on the table top. When you work with a good custom table top glass in
Mesa, you’ll create a distinctive look for your home that is both inviting and spacious.
